Research lines.

This research group was created at the end of the 80s, in order to deepen the knowledge of the functioning of aquatic systems and the development of tools and products for a sustainable management of water resources.

The main lines of research of the group are:

  • Functioning of pelagic trophic networks: physico-chemical interactions
  • Biodiversity in lakes and reservoirs
  • Photochemical impact on the flow of carbon in aquatic systems
  • Dissolved organic carbon and microbial ecology
  • Atmospheric dust and high mountain lakes
  • Development of automatic networks to monitor water quality
  • Studies of dynamic modeling in the active management of lakes and reservoirs
  • Balance of greenhouse gases in aquatic ecosystems
  • Nutrients exchange across the sediment and water interface
  • Sediment biogeochemistry
  • Restoration of eutrophicated inland waters
  • Magnetic particles as a new tool for restoring eutrophicated aquatic ecosystems
  • Palaeolimnology of alpine systems - Climate change assessment
  • Ecological and evolutionary implications of the diapausic egg bank of zooplankton
