Research at the Department focuses on the ecology of terrestrial ecosystems, aquatic trophic webs, and evolutionary or global ecology. The scientific production stands out for the numerous scientific projects, new generations of Ph.D. scientists trained, and numerous publications in scholarly books and ISI journals.
Current personnel belong to the Terrestrial Ecology (RNM 220), Global Ecology (RNM 125), Functional Ecology (RNM 367), Animal Biology and Ecology of Lotic Aquatic Systems (RMN 220) and Ecological Restoration (RNM 918). Research Groups and conduct their research at the facilities of the College of Sciences, as well as the Water Institute of Granada University and the Andalusian Institute for Earth System Research.
